Dick’s Roofing – A Legacy of Helping Local Youth Excel
March 30, 2016
Dick’s Roof Repair Service is extremely involved in the community, especially with helping local youth excel, and that starts right here in Kenosha and Racine, Wisconsin area. Owner Jeff Milkie is an active board member of the Boys & Girls Club Kenosha and Dick’s Roofing is a long time member of the Circle of Friends. Jeff takes great pride in working with our communities youth, especially when it comes to helping them improve on the basketball court. This has led him to helping kids reach their full basketball potential, while having fun and learning the game, as he is also the Executive Director of Small Fry Basketball.
What is Small Fry Basketball? It provides an opportunity for shorter boys and girls to excel in the game of basketball. The program is a developmental, yet competitive youth basketball program available to youngsters throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The game is for shorter athletes. Players may be no taller than 5-foot-1 and may not be older than 12 as of September 1 the year immediately prior to the competition season. A smaller-than-regulation basketball is used and rims are eight feet, six inches from the ground. Some areas also offer “rookie” programs with a smaller height limit and younger age limit. Small Fry teams are started from many sources including local park districts, school-affiliated teams, independently-sponsored teams and those associated with Boys and Girls Clubs or other youth organizations.
As Executive Director of Small Fry Basketball, Jeff will be running the 48th International Small Fry Basketball Tournament, April 4 – 7, 2016 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, FL.
Thank you Jeff for your service to the Kenosha and Racine community and helping local youth excel and kids across the nation.
