Helping The Community in Hard Times
March 19, 2020
As a dedicated member of the Kenosha community for over 60 years, the team at Dick’s Roof Repair is deeply saddened by current events. Our hearts go out to everyone who is struggling during these troubling times. This global pandemic will no doubt continue to touch each and every corner of the world, along with all of us in Kenosha County.
Since the beginning, Dick’s Roof Repair has worked tirelessly to help support the community in which we all live and work. As individuals and families prepare for an uncertain future and struggle to stay safe and healthy, help and support such as that is key.
We would like to take this opportunity to make sure the following organizations are remembered. They continue to impact the lives of so many in our community, especially during this crisis.
Meal programs volunteers and donations needed.
The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is a meal pick-up site for Kenosha Unified School District‘s food program during the coming weeks.
If you or your business is interested in purchasing or providing a grab-and-go dinner, please contact Jake McGhee at [email protected]. Otherwise, it is simple to make a monetary donation to the club online here.
Monetary donations needed!
The Kenosha Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that teaches reading, writing and speaking skills to adults so they and their families can achieve financial independence, good health and greater involvement in our community.
During the days and weeks ahead they have a plan in place to provide support and learning opportunities to KLC students and their families. This includes internet access, computers and tablets to use for homework and other needs, and healthy snacks for those with limited access to food.
We hope you’ll consider supporting KLC in raising funds for additional food and supplies that are needed during this time here.
Food donations needed.
The Shalom Center is calling ALL Hope Builders to help stock the pantry to feed youth and families in need right. They’re currently accepting a variety of food and beverage donations to help feed the large population they’re serving. Click here to find out what you can donate now.
Volunteers Needed!
KAFASI provides residents of Kenosha County with programs that meet vital needs within the community. Aging Services programs provide nutritious meals, affordable transportation, respite for caregivers, memory care programming, and solutions to loneliness for homebound people. Family Services programs support parents of all ages while addressing the needs of families with children who are at risk of abuse or neglect. Essential skills are taught through casework, as well as the Teen Parent, Parenting Class and Anger Management programs.
KAFASI is in need of volunteers to continue delivering these vital services to our community. Please enroll if you can assist.
Volunteers who are unable to deliver can also volunteer to help combat loneliness and isolation within our community with phone calls to homebound seniors. “Sponsor a Senior” is also a great way to help the older residents of Kenosha. A donation of $26.25 can help to feed a senior for a week.

Support Your Local Restaurants.
Many of your favorite local restaurants and bars, from Downtown Kenosha and beyond, are still open with some delicious takeout breakfast, lunch and/or dinner options. Most establishments have options for pick-up or delivery. You can easily call in your order or order online and enjoy some amazing food, with minimum contact with anyone else. This is a great way to help support local businesses during these difficult times.
Also, consider purchasing a gift card from your favorite local business now to use later or give as a gift! Learn more about the gift card rally here and learn what other local businesses are now offering from activities to online options to private shopping here.
