Congratulations to Our Healthcare Hero Winner

We are proud to announce the winner of our Healthcare Hero campaign that’ll be receiving a free roof this fall is Christina Olsen and her family Nic, son Brixton and four-legged dog Arlo. 

Christina has been a CNA at Brookside Care Center for 14-years in the rehab department. Since COVID began her income was impacted due to less hours available based on fewer surgeries and rehab patients, on top of her boyfriend, Nic, being laid off from March – June this year. 

Her job has changed quite a bit since COVID began, now when she arrives at work she immediately puts on a clean mask, has her temperature taken and has weekly COVID tests. She works day shifts and is now required to change in and out of full PPE (personal protective equipment) gear between every patient room which includes gowns, shields and masks. 

Once Christina leaves work she has to come home, change out of her scrubs and put them in the basement, shower and then pick up her 4-year old son, Brixton, from her mother’s home who takes care of him each day.

Christina stated what a nice surprise it was to be selected for the free roof by Dick’s Roofing because the family had been saving for two years to replace the roof but other expenses kept getting in the way. 

Once Christina and Nic selected the color for their new roof, our crew ordered the materials and schedule an installation date.

“I can’t thank Dick’s enough and I don’t know what I would have done without their help. They gave me an opportunity to receive a free roof which I had been saving up for and stressing about for years. The job was beyond expectations and staff was very kind,” stated Christina.

Dick’s Roofing is proud to be able to provide a Kenosha family a free roof to protect them from the elements this winter and keep their home warm.
