Kenosha Small Fry Reaching Out To Puerto Rico Small Fry

March 30, 2018

Small Fry International is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and asking for your help to support teams from Puerto Rico that were devastated by Hurricane Maria. Kenosha has always played a pivotal role in the tournament and League Executive Director,. Jeff Milkie the, President of Dick’s Roofing in Kenosha, is the league’s Executive Director, recently traveled to Puerto Rico to see the devastation first hand.

The tournament this year is the first week of April at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

This year, a special effort is being made to help the teams from Puerto Rico attend and support them post-tournament. “After the terrible hurricane, the kids on their Small Fry teams were left in a dire situation, unsure if they are going to be able to attend the tournament this year because of all of the devastation the hurricane left in its path,” Milkie said. “Small Fry is a close knit community and we are doing everything we can to make it possible for the Puerto Rico kids to be there and to raise funds to help them after this natural disaster.”

Milkie urged support for the Puerto Rico teams through a GoFundMe page that has been set up to raise funds. “I hope everybody will help the Puerto Rico teams attend this year’s tournament. Some things in life are bigger than basketball. They’ve been struggling since Hurricane Maria and this will be a great way for all of us to help them bring some sense of normalcy back to their young lives.”

The Kenosha team will be joining teams from all across America for the April 2-5 tournament. Every little bit counts towards the relief efforts and your donation to theGoFundMe campaign would mean the world to these players.
